Wilson-loop-ideal Bands and General Idealization Room: 147 Beyond fermions and bosons, anyons may emerge in two-dimensional condensed matter systems. Finding direct ways to construct wavefunctions for anyonic phases of matter has been a central pursuit in theoretical condensed matter physics. In this talk, I will introduce the concept of Wilson-loop-ideal bands, defined by their quantum metric saturating the Wilson-loop lower bound. This concept provides a unified framework for constructing wavefunctions of various anyonic phases, encompassing the known construction for fractional Chern insulators and enabling new constructions for fractional topological insulators. I will also present a general procedure for constructing Wilson-loop-ideal states in a given model, which we refer to as “idealization.” If time permits, I will touch on other important roles of the quantum metric in condensed matter physics.
