Unconventional Superconductivity and Spin Control in Two-Dimensional van der Waals Quantum Materials 1h 310

IAMM
Two-dimensional van der Waals (2D vdW) materials provide a versatile platform for investigating emergent quantum phases and their interplay with reduced dimensionality, symmetry, and interface engineering. In this seminar, I will present our recent experimental studies of two representative 2D vdW systems: the topological superconductor candidate 2M-WS2 and the layered magnet CrI3. I will first discuss the emergence of unconventional superconductivity and the tunability of phase transitions in 2M-WS2 nanolayers. I will then describe our progress in controlling spin and electronic states in CrI3-based magnetic tunnel junctions. These results highlight how 2D vdW materials offer new opportunities to explore novel superconducting and magnetic phenomena, while also suggesting possible routes toward quantum and spin-based device functionalities.
