Description
Cross sections of neutron-induced reactions are important for both nuclear astrophysics and nuclear applications. Direct measurement of the neutron-induced cross sections of radioactive nuclei is extremely challenging. Because of this, an indirect reaction measurement technique, called the Surrogate Reaction Method, is being used to determine the cross sections of (n,γ), (n,p) and (n,n’) reactions. Several surrogate measurements were performed in direct kinematics with the proton and the deuteron beams using the GODDESS (GRETINA-ORRUBA: Dual Detectors for Experimental Structure Studies) detection system at ATLAS. Details of these measurements and preliminary results will be presented.
