10:20 → 11:20 Fractional Topological Insulator and Topological Superconductor in TMD Moire Bilayers

Bilayer transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) bilayers have offered
unprecedented opportunities for experimental discoveries of novel
topological states without a magnetic field. In my talk, I will first
give a brief overview of the field of fractional Chern insulators
(FCI) and present numerical evidence of the emergence of a
non-Abelian FCI for twisted MoTe2 system at the fractional hole
filling of 3/2. I will show you signatures of a non-Abelian state
via exact diagonalization calculations, including a stable six-fold
ground-state degeneracy and fractionally quantized Chern number that
are consistent with an even-denominator FCI. In the second part of my
talk, I will focus on experimental platforms of hetero-TMD bilayers,
and present numerical evidence for the emergence of chiral spin liquid
and topological d+id superconductivity. Our findings highlight the
richness of the TMD Moire platforms for discovering correlated
topological states of matter.
