Description

The use of multimodal sensing is enabling new and improved capabilities for the detection and imaging

of nuclear radiation in real-world environments. This presentation will describe how the exploitation of contextual data from sensors such as video, Lidar, and GPS/INS can significantly extend the capabilities of radiation detection and imaging systems and deliver transformational technologies for nuclear safety and nonproliferation.  The development and application of multimodal sensing systems, their integration with advanced robotic platforms, the development of multimodal sensor networks, and the use of AI methods for the analysis and interpretation of multimodal data will be discussed.
